"All Things Sporting Good" - Brand Style Guide

Reflecting an exciting "All Things Sporting Good" rebrand, this comprehensive brand style guide contained everything from the brand's voice and tone, typography, color palettes, as well as sample implementation across all marketing channels and customer touchpoints (print, digital, social, in-store, broadcast, etc.).

For this campaign, I teamed up with Denver-based Factory Design Labs to challenge the prevailing "win-at-all-cost" attitude found in sports. Our research illuminated a key insight: our customer was not the cut-throat, top 1% of athletes out there competing for Olym[pic medals. They were mothers, fathers, teachers, neighbors, grocery store managers - regular citizens looking to have fun, to live healthier, happier lives. They were out there for the good in sports.
Saucony - Photo Shoot (The White Series)

For this fun concept, dubbed "The White Series" (which may have been a nod to The Beatles), we wanted to showcase the movement of the colorful apparel. To intensify the focus on apparel, we created several sets. With wood, screws, and a LOT of white paint, we created scenes that ranged from outdoors, living rooms, gyms, and more. In the process of building these different sets, we started a game of "Will It Paint." Turns out, not every substance is accepting of white paint (I'm looking at you, plastic potted plant).
The end result yielded a striking campaign presentation in-store, online, print, and social.
100% Organic Campaign

What better way to communicate Natural Grocers' commitment to offering only 100% Organic produce than to say it with only 100% organic produce?
Pro Tip: make sure you start this kind of project early in the morning. Leaving organic produce out over night, might yield some less-than-ideal structural integrity.
GardenBox Launch Collateral: Logo

Natural Grocers was looking to launch a revolutionary, industry-first, onsite living garden. Housed in refurbished, high-tech shipping containers, this allowed Natural Grocers to offer the freshest produce possible. For the launch, we needed to create the brand - from name, to logo, to supporting launch collateral. The color of the logo nods to both green produce and blue water. The tagline color represents root systems.
This revolutionary process ushered in a new industry standard for verifying hydroponics. I worked closely with Federal regulators to create the seal for this new standard.

The concept was so well received that the company implemented similar collaborations with local artists in other cities worldwide where they had offices.

I was commissioned to work on an extraordinary braille study for a prominent Colorado-based artist. The objective was, in part, to express human emotion through braille. The series was first exhibited in a profound art-you-can-touch show at The Other Side Arts (TOSA) gallery in Denver, CO. Shown here are pages from a forthcoming book documenting the artist's work.

TLDR reached out with an assignment: rebrand their logo and newsletter. Building off their colorful palette, they wanted their new brand to reflect a more modern, approachable, professional presentation. For the logo, color would play an important role in both establishing brand presence and serving as a key navigational element for better organizing their newsletter.
In an RGB world, this concept explored a CMYK color build as a fun wink to a pre-digital world. The font was selected for it's bold, yet clean, legibility. The final treatment felt both throwback and new, familiar and refreshing.

The Highland Ramblers tapped me to refresh their brand. What started as a 4-piece traditional bluegrass/jug band, was now beginning to explore new sonic territory - thanks, in part, to the addition of a new upright bass player and the band's first drummer. The refresh was shot in the arm for their marketing efforts, yielding the most engaging and active chapter in the band's history.
